Dr. Arita Alija

Dr. Arita Alija joined Medical Associates of Port Perry in fall 2025. She is originally from London, Ontario. She completed five years of undergraduate studies in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Waterloo, before being accepted into medical school at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at Western University. She then had the privilege of coming to Durham for her family medicine residency through the Queen’s University program in Oshawa.

At the end of her family medicine residency, she had the opportunity to complete a 2-month rotation at MAPP and the warmth of the community definitely drew her in!

In addition to providing comprehensive family medicine care, she works as a surgical assistant, an active-duty coroner, and is involved with the Port Perry Palliative Care Service.
